06 Sep #AdranPremier: Swansea City Ladies grab late winner at Cardiff Met
Swansea City Ladies came from behind to win late on at Cardiff Met as the Genero Adran Premier League kicked off.
Aberystwyth Town 3-1 Barry Town United
Port Talbot Town 0-4 Cardiff City FC
Cardiff Met 1-2 Swansea City
The New Saints 1-2 Pontypridd Town
Cardiff Met led through Emily Allen’s fine 14th-minute finish but defending champions Swansea levelled four minutes into the second half through Stacey John-Davis. Shauna Jenkins then popped up with the decider in the penultimate minute of the ninety.
Cardiff City’s Phoebe Poole scored very late in either half during a 4-0 victory at Port Talbot. Chelsey Harris conceded an own-goal and Zoe Atkins got the Bluebirds other second-half goal.
Aberystwyth Town’s Elin Jones netted seconds into the new season and an Amy Jenkins penalty gave them a 2-0 interval lead. Taite Trivett pulled one back for newcomers Barry Town at the start of the second half, only for Libby Isaac to restore the two-goal cushion for Aber.
The New Saints scored first through Francesca Scott as they looked to make a winning top-flight debut but Pontypridd Town (formerly Cyncoed) turned it round with a first-half Alison Witts double, which included a penalty.
