CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women’s soccer team hits the road for the 2021 Sun Belt Women’s Soccer Championship Quarterfinals in Foley, Ala., at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex. The Chanticleers are set to face the Georgia Southern Eagles Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Coastal will enter the tournament as the No. 5 seed, while Georgia Southern is seeded fourth. The entire Sun Belt Women’s Soccer Championship will be available for stream via ESPN+. The top five seeds received a first-round bye.

CCU finished the regular season with an overall record of 6-8-2 and a 4-5-1 Sun Belt record and Georgia Southern tallied a 9-6-4 overall record as well as a 4-3-3 Sun Belt record.

During the regular season, Coastal Carolina defeated Georgia Southern 4-1 on the Eagles senior night as junior Megan Brouse tallied her first career hat trick on the way to CCU’s 200th program victory. The Phoenix, Ariz. native’s three-goal performance marked the first by a Chanticleer in a single game since Montana Hill on October 7, 2016. Notably, it was just the 11th in program history.

Across the remainder of the Sun Belt Tournament, Arkansas State clinched the regular-season title and the No. 1 seed to earn a quarterfinal bye. South Alabama secured the No. 2 seed while Georgia Southern earned the No. 3 spot.

Monday night kicked off the tournament as No. 6 seed Texas State faced No. 11 App State, followed by No. 7 Little Rock taking on No. 10 Louisiana before No. 8 ULM ended the night against No. 9 Troy.
