CSB’s Smith sets another record; local colleges ranked in national polls

NORTHFIELD — College of St. Benedict sophomore Fiona Smith continued her streak of record-breaking cross country times last Saturday at the Carleton Invite, topping her own school record by 36 seconds to win in a time of 21:27.

She also set the course record for her second career win, grabbing top honors when she initially set the St. Benedict 6K school record during her first collegiate race in St. Cloud on Sept. 4.

Smith set five indoor and outdoor track and field school records last year en route to earning All-American honors for a fifth place finish in the 5,000m at the Division III National Championships. St. Benedict races again on Friday in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
