The High Point University women’s soccer team travels to nearby Winston-Salem for its National Television debut against Wake Forest on ACC Network at 7:00 PM.
Panther Women on National TV in 2021
High Point University has seen its women perform across ESPN’s networks five times in 2021. Once on ESPN when #16 High Point faced #1 UConn in the first round of the 2021 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament. Twice on ESPNU as Famke Heinst competed in the NCAA Cross Country Championships and Sydney Horn competed at the 2021 NCAA Track and Field Indoor Championships. once on ESPN2 as Sydney Horn competed at the 2021 NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships. Once on the ACC Network when the HPU Women’s lacrosse team faced Duke last season. HPU Women’s Soccer will bring that total to six on Sunday night against Wake Forest.

We are Back!
HPU returns for the 2021 fall season after enjoying its most nationally prominent season in program history last spring. HPU was ranked as high as 24th in both the Top-Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News media polls as well as receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches poll. Earlier this week HPU was announced as receiving votes in the College Soccer News Poll.

HPU was picked as the preseason favorites in the 2021 Big South Conference Preseason Fall Women’s Soccer Poll for the second consecutive season announced last week. Sam Gerhart was named the 2021 Big South Preseason Offensive Player of the year. he now starts the fall campaign of her third Big South Season as the Big South Preseason Offensive player of the year. Each year she has earned the highest possible end-of-season individual honor she starts her junior season the same way with preseason Player of the Year honors.
