Lisburn win NIWFA Championship – SheKicks

The NIWFA Electric Ireland leagues still have some promotion places to play for but Lisburn have secured the Championship title.

In the Championship, leaders Lisburn drew 1-1 at second-placed Mid Ulster on Wednesday, thereby securing promotion to the Danske Bank Premiership. St James Swifts are also in contention for the second available promotion place.

Larne won Division One after an unbeaten season but the second promotion spot is still to be decided when the two sides vying for the prize – Foyle Belles and Ballymacash Rangers – meet next week.

Division Two is still in play with Carnmoney’s four-point lead cut to one by Lisburn Rangers, who have a game in hand.

Division Three was won in dramatic fashion last week through a last minute strike by Camlough, with the second promotion spot secured by Ballynahinch.

Division Four sees all still to play for, although Ballymoney United only need one point from their remaining games to secure promotion. Antrim Rovers and Rosario are still in the promotion mix in that division.

Strabane Athletic who have won Division Five in their debut season. Lisburn Ladies Swifts, Newhill and Craigavon City are all chasing second place.
