Marissa Zaleski Rowan Laughlin Canton South tennis sectional

JACKSON TWP. — The Canton South doubles team of Marissa Zaleski and Rowan Laughlin punched their ticket to the Division II district tennis tournament on Wednesday. 

Seeded fourth, Zaleski and Laughlin beat Orrville’s Jayne Wallace and Ella Wallace 6-4, 6-3 in a sectional quarterfinal match at Jackson Community Park. They will face top-seeded Selah Roth and Morgan Kline on Saturday in a semifinal match. The semifinals and final will determine district seeding. 

Third-seeded Ella Burris and Emily Le of Manchester will face No. 2 Elizabeth Savitski and Angela Thompson of Hoban in the other semifinal. Burris and Le defeated St. Vincent-St. Mary’s Lizzy Saliga and Elizabeth Schlueter 6-1, 6-2 in the quarterfinals
