Mountain West Unveils 2021 Women’s Soccer Championship Bracket

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The bracket is set for the 2021 Mountain West Women’s Soccer Championship, which kicks off on Monday, Nov. 1, at the Boas Soccer Complex in Boise, Idaho.
 
The six-team, single-elimination tournament will feature two matches on Monday, Nov. 1, and Thursday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. MT and 2 p.m. MT with the championship game being played on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Noon MT. All five matches will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network. Live stats for each match will also be available on the 2021 MW Women’s Soccer Championship Central page.
 
New Mexico claimed the regular-season title for the second year in a row and earned the No. 1 seed in the MW championship. The Lobos, who are making their 20th MW championship appearance, ended the season with an 7-2-2 MW record and 12-4-2 overall mark.
 
With a 7-3-1 Conference record, Fresno State earned its sixth berth to the MW Championship since joining the league in 2012. The Bulldogs have made four-straight trips to the league postseason and will be the No. 2 seed.
  
San Diego State enters the Conference postseason tournament as the No. 3 seed after posting a 5-4-2 mark in league play and winning the head-to-head tiebreaker over Utah State. The Aztecs, who have won the MW Championship five times since 1999, are making their 21st appearance at the MW Conference tournament.
 
Utah State earned the No. 4 seed after concluding the regular season with a 12-5-3 overall record and a 5-4-2 mark in Conference play. The Aggies are making their fourth appearance in the MW Championship and first since 2016.
 
Colorado State is the No. 5 seed in the 2021 championship after securing its second MW postseason berth in program history. The Rams concluded the regular season with a 5-5-1 league record and a 6-7-3 overall mark.
 
The MW Championship host Boise State will be the No. 6 seed after registering a 10-6-3 overall record and 4-4-3 mark in Conference action. The Broncos won the tiebreaker over Colorado College and UNLV to claim the final MW postseason berth. Boise State, the reigning MW Tournament Champion, is making its ninth postseason appearance.
 
In Monday’s opening round, No. 4 Utah State plays No. 5 Colorado State at 11 a.m. MT, followed by No. 3 San Diego State vs. No. 6 Boise State at 2 p.m. MT. The winner of Monday’s first match will take on top-seeded New Mexico at 11 a.m. MT on Thursday, Nov. 4 in the first of two semifinal matches. The other semifinal contest will pit No. 2 seed Fresno State against the winner of Monday’s No. 3 vs. No. 6 contest at 2 p.m. MT.
 
The winners of the semifinal matches will vie for the Conference championship title on Saturday, Nov. 6. The winner will be crowned the 2021 MW women’s soccer champions and punch their ticket to the NCAA women’s soccer tournament.
