Murray State to Host Governors for Final Regular Season Game

Murray State Women’s Soccer will play host to rival Austin Peay on at 1 pm on Sunday (Oct. 24) at Cutchin Field in Murray, Kentucky. Murray State enters the match at 8-7-1 and 5th in the OVC while Austin Peay enters the match 4-9-3 and 9th in the OVC.
 
Murray State is led offensively this season by Chloe Barnthouse and Lauren Payne each with four goals. Morgan Bodker and Hailey Cole each lead the Racers with five assists each on the season.
 
In the Racers match versus Tennessee Tech, Rebecca Kubin and Gracey Pack were each able to net a goal in the draw with the Golden Eagles.
 
Scouting Report
 
Austin Peay enters the contest at 1-5-1 in OVC play and are led offensively by Alec Baumgardt with three goals and three assists on the year. Peyton Powell and Chloe Dion have split goalkeeping duties throughout the year with Powell grabbing 35 saves and Dion collecting 42 saves this season.
 
What to Watch for

With a Racer win and a Tennessee Tech loss the Racers would secure the fourth seed in the OVC tournament and host a first round matchup next weekend (Oct. 29 & 31).
 
Following the match, Murray State will honor seven seniors for their contributions to Racer soccer. Rebecca Kubin, Symone Cooper, Izzy Heckman, Cera Prather, Marley Hall, Katie Bickers, and Abby Jones will all be honored during the post-game ceremony.
