The top three women’s soccer teams in the South Atlantic Conference are headed to the NCAA Division II tournament.
Queens, Catawba and Lenoir-Rhyne are in the eight-team Southeast Region bracket, which starts Friday in Salisbury.
Queens (15-4-1), which lost to Catawba 1-0 in the SAC final, earned its third tournament berth in history as the third seed. The Royals will face sixth-seeded North Georgia (10-5-1) at 3 p.m.
Host Catawba (18-0-2), the second seed, will take on seventh-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne (11-5-2) Friday at 6 p.m. The winners will play Sunday at 2 p.m.
The other half of the region bracket will be played at top-seeded Columbus State (18-2-1), which plays No. 8 Mount Olive (15-1-2). Fourth-seeded Flagler (15-2-1) takes on No. 5 UNC Pembroke (15-4-0).
Winners of the two regional sites will meet the following weekend for the regional title on the higher seed’s home field.
