Soccer NCAA Tournament Draws Announced

St. Louis, Mo., November 8, 2021 – The Washington University in St. Louis men’s and women’s soccer teams earned spots into the NCAA tournament on Monday, as both teams watched their names appear on the brackets during the selection show. 

The No. 6 women’s team will host the first and second round contests at Francis Olympic Field on Saturday and Sunday as they make their 15th straight appearance into the NCAA Championships. 

WashU’s opening round matchup is against Beloit at 11 a.m. If the Bears advance, they will face the winner of Hanover/Dominican, who play at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Under first-year Head Coach Stephanie Gabbert, the Bears recorded an impressive 14-1-2 record and their third consecutive outright UAA championship this season, along with their sixth straight UAA title.

The No. 3 men’s team will make their 11th NCAA appearance under Head coach Joe Clarke and 24th appearance in program-history on Saturday against Wisconsin-Superior in Chicago at 11:00 a.m.

The first and second round regional will be hosted by North Park University.

WashU clinched a bid into the tournament as an automatic qualifier after the Bears defeated No. 10 UChicago for the UAA championship on Saturday.

In addition, the men’s team will be playing in the postseason for the first time since 2016.
