31 Aug Soccer & Volleyball Announce Schedule Adjustments
JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Due to the impending inclement weather set to hit the tri-state area, as well as several other factors, the New Jersey City University department of athletics has announced various schedule adjustments for the men’s soccer, women’s soccer and women’s volleyball programs as they embark on their first week of Fall competition since 2019.
NJCU’s season-opening game, scheduled for Wednesday, September 1, at 1:00 p.m. against PSU-Scranton at Robert L. McNulty Field has been canceled. The Gothic Knights will take on Yeshiva University on Thursday, September 2, at 2:00 p.m. at Caven Point Field just near Liberty National Golf Course in Jersey City.
The Gothic Knights, initially scheduled to play the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. on McNulty Field, will now play CMSV on Saturday, September 4, at 1:00 p.m. on McNulty. NJCU’s match with its original Saturday opponent, Saint Elizabeth University, has been canceled and replaced by this game against the Dolphins.
Due to outstanding circumstances, York College (N.Y.) will be unable to attend the 2021 Jersey City Invitational on Saturday at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center (JMAC). Competition will now take the form of a true tri-match on one court, featuring just NJCU, FDU-Florham and Bryn Mawr College. The Gothic Knights will compete at 11:00 a.m. against Bryn Mawr and 3:00 p.m. versus FDU, while the Devils and Owls face off at 1:00 p.m.
