TOCA Football’s new Franklin location to expand with kids program

TOCA Football, founded by retired soccer star Eddie Lewis, is expanding its newly opened Franklin location with a program geared to get even the youngest of players into the game of soccer.

This October, “TOCA Strikers” will be offered for kids between 18 months old and 7 years old. For these kids, instruction won’t just be about soccer though. It’ll emphasize the importance of being healthy, keeping active and learning fine motor skills.

“It’s really about getting kids out interacting with other kids, and to really develop all of the physical skills required to just be, you know, healthy, happy kids,” Lewis said to the Tennessean.

TOCA was founded in 2016 by two-time U.S. World Cup and former MLS and English Premier League midfielder Eddie Lewis. Using proprietary ball-machines, digitalized targets and a data-enhanced app, the company welcomes soccer players of all levels to train and enjoy the game.

Headquartered in Costa Mesa, California, TOCA Football was founded in 2016 following Lewis’ retirement. The two-time U.S. World Cup and former MLS and English Premiere League midfielder decided he wanted to share one of his most trusted training tools with the world.

“I was constantly looking for ways to try and get better on the ball, and eventually I stumbled upon this concept using a tennis ball and a tennis ball machine,” he said. “That really just launched my career. I caught up to all of my peers and passed them, too, so that was always almost like my secret weapon to a certain extent.”
