PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women’s soccer will open the 2021 Big Ten Tournament as the No. 1 seed, hosting No. 8 seed Wisconsin for a quarterfinal match on Sunday, Oct. 31 at Yurcak Field. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET live on B1G+.

The Scarlet Knights claimed the outright 2021 Big Ten Championship, posting a perfect 10-0 record in league play. Earning the first Big Ten title in program history, RU clinched the top seed in the conference tournament. RU wrapped up the regular season on the road with a 2-0 win at Indiana and a 3-0 victory at Illinois, extending its program-record win streak to 11 straight victories.
The Big Ten championship also marks first of any team in Rutgers history. The Scarlet Knights completed the program’s first-ever undefeated conference, becoming the first Big Ten team to complete the feat since 2005.
Rutgers, ranked No. 9 nationally, owns a record of 15-2 overall, the most regular season wins in program history. A total of 18 Scarlet Knights have contributed to scoring with RU outscoring opponents 52-12 overall and 23-6 in Big Ten games only. Defensively, the team has posted nine overall shutouts and five in league action, having held all 17 opponents to single-digit shots on goal.
Set for its eighth consecutive Big Ten Tournament, RU earned a Top 3 seed for the fourth consecutive season, earning the No. 1 seed for the first time in program history.
