HOUSTON – HBU women’s soccer is set for Senior Night this Tuesday at Sorrels Field when the Huskies host the Northwestern State Lady Demons in the team’s regular season finale at 7:00 p.m.


The Huskies (4-12-1, 4-7 SLC) are currently tied for fifth in the conference standings with 12 points. Northwestern State (9-4-2, 9-1 SLC), meanwhile, stands atop the standings with 27 points.


Last week, HBU played a lone game in Lake Charles, La. against the McNeese Cowgirls, falling 1-0. The Huskies had more offensive chances than the hosts but were unable to find the net in the road loss. Sophomore Katie Marker leads the Huskies with 11 points (three goals, five assists) with senior Noor Abukishk right behind her with 10 points (three goals, four assists). Karla Ramirez has played every second in goal and has totaled three shutouts this season.


The Lady Demons come into Tuesday’s match boasting the league’s top goal-scorer in junior Olivia Draguicevich. The forward has 11 goals this year and a pair of assists. Senior goalkeeper Acelya Aydogmus has racked up nine shutouts on the year and has allowed just three goals in SLC play. NSU is currently riding a five-match unbeaten streak.


The Huskies will travel to Corpus Christi, Texas for the Southland Conference Tournament with the opening round scheduled to start on Wednesday, Nov. 3.
